About Engineering
B.Tech full form is Bachelor of Technology. It is a popular undergraduate programme in India.A Bachelor of Technology degree is sometimes seen as a stepping stone into the area of engineering. Depending on the country and the college, the Btech course lasts between three to four years. In India, the degree is completed in four years and is divided into eight semesters. B tech course fees ranges from 1 to 4 lakh per year, depending on the institute and subject.
B.Tech admissions are often dependent on national level entrance examinations such as JEE Main and JEE Advanced, as well as state tests such as BITSAT, SRMJEEE, WBJEE, and others. However, only a few universities offer direct admission based on merit. The basic B Tech Eligibility is 60 percent in class 12 with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as compulsory courses.
Students who have obtained a Diploma in Engineering may apply for B tech Lateral Entry. They will be allowed to enrol immediately in the second year of the B Tech Program.
BE full form is Bachelor of Engineering which is an alternative to B.Tech. BE programmes are more theoretical in nature, whilst Bachelor of Technology programmes are more practical in nature.
In India, there are around 4100 B Tech Colleges. B Tech course fees in IITs range from INR 250,000 to INR 4,50,000, whereas private engineering courses range from INR 250,000 to INR 5,00,000.
B.Tech Course: Eligibility Criteria
The following factors determine eligibility for BTech courses:
Candidates for B Tech Admissions must have passed a 10+2 or equivalent exam from a recognised educational board such as CBSE, ICSE, etc.
A minimum of 60% aggregate in physics, chemistry, and maths is required for students to be eligible for B.Tech. Reservation categories such as SC/ST benefit from a 5% reduction.
If you have passed JEE Mains or another similar entrance test, you must submit your scorecard during the admission process, since such results are required for further admission process

Higher Studies – Following your BTech, you can enrol in a post-graduate programme. It is a fantastic route for those who want to expand their topic knowledge and develop specialised knowledge. A master's degree can also help you attain senior-level positions and earn more money.
Public Service Undertakings - PSUs are companies that are owned in part by the state, central, or both governmental organizations. Among the well-known PSUs are BHEL, LIC, Hindustan Copper Limited, and NALCO.After completing your B.Tech, you can apply to PSUs and land a lucrative career. You can find work on a permanent, contractual, or temporary basis.
Management - B.Tech and MBA are a terrific combo that employers seek for, which is why many students pursue an MBA programme after completing their B.Tech.An MBA degree on your CV will help you land management positions at prestigious companies such as Accenture and TCS. To enter the management industry, you can take the CAT (Common Aptitude Test) and obtain a high enough score to gain admission to the management institution of your choosing.
Entrepreneurship - After engineering, you can pursue a career in entrepreneurship. Engineering graduates are no longer discouraged from pursuing entrepreneurial opportunities. The success of many startups nowadays drives many engineers to establish their own firms. You will have the flexibility to express your talents and ideas as an engineer entrepreneur. Because this road may be fraught with difficulties, it is advised that you carefully weigh the benefits and drawbacks before embarking on it.
Campus Placement - Most good engineering schools have campus placement and provide decent placement chances. Apply for the numerous placement opportunities on campus, but more importantly, prepare well for them. There will be no point if you do not obtain one. Campus placements for engineering students are increasing year after year, with significant pay packages being provided to applicants who excelled in college.
Civil Services - If you want to serve your country after graduating from engineering, the Civil Services Exam is the finest opportunity. You must pass the UPSC civil services test to be considered for this position. It is regarded as one of the most difficult exams. As a result, it is advised that you begin preparing for at least a year before applying. The UPSC provides three engineering electives: civil, mechanical, and electrical engineering. With a good exam score, you can advance to the prestigious posts of IAS, IPS, or IFS.
Get Certification - Certification courses are an excellent way to swiftly upskill and build job skills after completing a BTech. It takes less time and is less expensive than other educational paths. A normal certification programme might last from nine months to one and a half years.
Some Certifications that you can choose after BTech are as follows:
· Certification in data science
· Certification in the internet of things (IoT)
· Certification in embedded system design
· Diploma in industrial automation
· Diploma in remote engineering and robotics
· Certification in construction management
· Certification in advanced industrial automation
Join Indian Armed Forces - If you want to serve your country and have an exciting career, then joining the Indian Armed Forces is a fantastic option for you. You can apply for any of the three wings: Indian Army, Indian Airforce, or Indian Navy. Each wing's selection criteria and qualifications differ.Engineering graduates have chances for technical duties in addition to combat roles through several admission schemes such as Technical Graduate Course (TGS), University Entry Scheme (UES), Short Service Commission - Technical (SSC), and Special Naval Architect Entry Scheme (SNAES).
Blogging-Photography - Another artistic occupation that B.Tech graduates might choose is writing. To be a blogger, you don't need any special abilities; all you need is to practise your language skills [depending on whatever language you want to write in], choose your area of interest to blog about, and read a lot.Similarly, freelance photography is a rewarding career option. This field is growing increasingly popular. The average hourly salary for freelance photography is roughly 400K, according to PayScale.com.
Banking - Engineering graduates have begun to shift their careers and get experience in banking and finance. A career in banking may lead to a variety of positions ranging from Investment Banker and Probationary Officer to Budget and Financial Analyst. Pursuing a profession in this sector allows you to participate in and contribute to your country's economic prosperity.
Study Abroad - There are several programmes available at institutions overseas for a B.Tech graduate with a cse, ece, eee, or biotechnology degree from India. Higher education options following engineering include integrated, postgraduate, or diploma programmes in mechanical engineering, computer science, biotechnology, civil engineering, and other fields. The most important prerequisite for studying abroad is passing competitive examinations such as IELTS, TOEFL, GRE, or GMAT, depending on what you want to study.
